Questions

Answers before you ask

The questions patients and families ask us most often.

What is medical tourism?

Travelling to another country to receive medical treatment. People do it when a treatment is unavailable at home, the waiting time is too long, they want a second opinion, or the cost is more manageable.

Why do patients travel to Egypt for treatment?

Egypt has an established private healthcare sector that regularly treats international patients, and Cairo is well connected by air to much of Africa. Consultations are commonly in Arabic or English.

Does MedVoyage provide medical treatment?

No. We are not a hospital or clinic, we do not diagnose, and we do not treat. All medical care comes from licensed doctors at the hospitals and clinics that treat you.

How does MedVoyage help?

We organise your reports into a case a specialist can review, approach appropriate hospitals on your behalf, and bring their answer back in plain language. We also handle travel guidance, appointments, accommodation, transport, interpretation and follow-up.

How are medical decisions made?

By you, with the doctors treating you. We never make clinical decisions — our job is to put the information in front of you in writing so you can decide, including deciding not to proceed.
